btbiz Holdings, Inc. (“btbiz,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates a marketplace for the sale of distressed, dormant, and non-operating businesses. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. This is a demonstration storefront and no real transactions take place.

Overview
We keep this simple: we collect the information we need to run a marketplace, we do not sell your personal information, and we try not to be creepy about it. When you use btbiz you agree to the collection and use of information described here.
Information we collect
We collect information you give us, information we collect automatically, and information we receive from third parties.
- Account details — name, email address, password, and the role you select (buyer, seller, or both).
- Transaction details — the businesses you view, save, or attempt to purchase, and the amounts involved. In this demo, no real card data is processed or stored.
- Listing content — anything you publish as a seller, including business names, financial figures, and descriptions.
- Usage data — pages viewed, searches performed, device type, browser, IP address, and approximate location.
How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and authenticate your sessions.
- To show you relevant listings and process the purchases you request.
- To contact you about orders, price drops, and service changes.
- To detect fraud, abuse, and attempts to sell businesses twice.
- To understand which parts of the marketplace actually work.
Where required by law, we rely on your consent, our contract with you, or our legitimate interest in operating the marketplace.
Data retention
We keep account and transaction records for as long as your account is active, and afterward for as long as we need to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Listing data may be retained in anonymized form to improve the marketplace.
Security
We use encryption in transit, hashed credentials, and access controls to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we take the reasonable steps most people expect.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing.
- Access and portability — request a copy of your data in a common format.
- Correction — fix information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Deletion — ask us to erase your account and personal data.
- Objection — opt out of marketing and non-essential analytics at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Children's privacy
btbiz is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we will delete it if we learn we have.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will revise the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in the app.
